Overview

Train Fitness is a unique workout app offering a completely hands-free experience. Its AI technology detects your movements to identify the 150 exercises you're performing and counts your reps automatically. The app also provides a complete social experience, allowing users to stay motivated by connecting with friends.

I joined Train as their sole designer after their first round of funding. My role involved creating the entire visual experience and collaborating closely with the founders on product features and the overall vision. I was tasked with bringing their AI technology to life in preparation for the app’s first app store launch.

HANDS FREE WATCH EXPERIENCE

One of the most exciting aspects of this project was the focus on Apple Watch experiences. Designing for the Watch presented a unique challenge, testing our skills in working with its limited screen space. Ultimately, we created an app that tracks your entire workout while your phone stays securely in your pocket.

 

DESIGNING FOR APPLE APP STORE

As the sole designer for Train leading up to their first iOS App Store release, I had the opportunity to tackle a wide range of design challenges—from motion design (featured in the promotional video at the top of this page) to the marketing website, app icon, and App Store previews below.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS 🎉

  • Founding product designer, creating the design system and specifications for the entire user interface for the first iOS mobile and Apple Watch launch.

  • Contributed to over 50,000 downloads and achieved 80% month-over-month growth.

  • Played a key role in helping Train Fitness secure $2.5 million in seed funding.

  • Developed a seamless, hands-free user experience for both mobile and Apple Watch, driving increased engagement and user retention.

  • Led the creation of visually appealing marketing materials, including the promotional video and app store assets, to boost brand visibility and attract new users.
