VISUAL IDEATION AND CONCEPTION
Below is font I chose to start developing this logo. I was drawn to the uniqueness of its lettering and clean sharp lines.
Ménos Shoes
CREATING A VISIONARY PRODUCT
Ménos Shoes is a passion project of a small group of Texas/Mexico-based rock climbers, passionate about sustainability and community outreach. Ménos is an upcycled climbing shoe company made from recycled tire rubber sourced from Mexico. My responsibilities include designing the logo, shirts, and the Shopify website, as well as creating our shoe collection boxes. Each week, we receive about 100 pairs of donated climbing shoes to be upcycled.
EDUCATION-FOCUSED BRANDING
Our business model is centered around educating the climbing community on the value of recycling climbing shoes. Our growth primarily comes from donations of used climbing shoes, collected through the boxes I designed, which are now placed in climbing gyms across the country. Although we are a for-profit company, one of our main goals is to support and uplift the youth climbing community in Mexico, where climbing is often inaccessible due to high costs and is mainly used by international tourists. We are working towards developing a youth climbing team and establishing a workshop/storefront in El Potrero Chico, a world-renowned climbing destination in Nuevo León, Mexico.
